Tier 5 (YMS)

The Tier 5 (YMS) visa category has replaced the UK working holiday visa. To be eligible you will need to show that you are aged 18-30 and a national of one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Republic of Korea or Taiwan.

The (YMS) visa is valid for 2 years and allows you to live and work in the UK for it’s duration You won’t be able apply if you have children who live with you; children you’re financially responsible for or if you have already been in the UK under the scheme or in the former working holiday maker category.

You must also show that you have £1,890 in savings in your account on the date of application.

Citizens of Hong Kong and Republic of Korea must get a certificate of sponsorship reference number before you apply. A certificate of sponsorship is a unique reference number that holds information about the job you will do and your personal details. It’s not a certificate or paper document.
