EEA Family Permit
If you are the family member of an EEA national, but from outside the EEA yourself, you will need a family permit to enter the UK. This is similar to a visa, and allows you to live and work in the United Kingdom.
Family members include husbands, wives, civil partners, dependent children under 21, and dependent parents or grandparents.
EEA Residence Card
An EEA Residence Card can be granted to family members of EU nationals who are themselves from outside the EEA. You can apply for this visa as an extension to an EEA Family Permit or if you are already in the UK with or without leave to remain.
EEA Registration Certificate
If you are a national of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, you will be able to come to the UK without the need for a visa. You have the right to live and work in the UK, provided you are able to support yourself without any government assistance.
You may wish to consider applying for a EEA registration certificate to confirm your immigration rights in the UK – particularly following the Brexit vote.
